Free Scrapbook Ideas:
Some people prefer a simple layout, as they want the focus of the scrapbook to be on the photos and actual items inside the book. Some people like to go all out and make the designs as fancy as possible, to bring out the effect more vividly.
A great free scrapbook idea is to choose photos in several different sizes and shapes. Just using the same squarish “landscape” shape for your photos over and over again can get a bit boring. Mix it up a bit! Don’t be afraid to have a variety of portrait and landscape format photos on each page. This will enhance the viewing pleasure and make things more interesting. Ideas like using pre-done frames in circular or odd-shapes, as well as the traditional rectangles for different sized photos can be used to your advantage to create a more personal free scrapbook.
It is important to consider not just the sizes of the photos or items, but also the layout or “how” you present them in your layout. It’s a good idea to give yourself some time for “creative digital play” before you settle on your final layout. Move things, change the colors, flip things around, stack things on top of each other, skip the pre-done frame and just add a dropshaow with some flowers stacked down the side of a photo…it’s up to you! Just pushing things around for a few minutes without worrying if you are doing it “right” will lead to some great designs. If you really want your book to mean something special, then it’s worth the effort (and the fun!) of spending some time to come up with original layouts.
To trigger inspiration and creativity sometimes just surfing through digital scrapbook stores can help. You’re sure to find tons of ideas which you can then translate into your scrapbook with the free scrapbook tools you find and you’ll have something far better than you thought you would when you started!
